It explains the meaning of term ethnic studies and concepts involved in its study. The document outlines the significance of involving kids in voluntary services and opportunities. It also explains services, activities, and projects those kids should participate in to become responsible citizens in the community.

Introduction

Kids participating in community projects and services acquire practical ethical issues learned in Ethnic Studies. Kids have the capability to put into practice as well as exercise their potential in serving the community. Children acquire a good foundation in understanding critical frameworks and key concepts of ethnic studies. It promotes critical reflection about social justice, equality, and understanding other people’s status. Kids’ involvement in social hospitality activities helps in fulfilling the main goal of ethnic studies by giving children better forums to bring together diversified social characteristics in society. Participating in kid’s projects and services helps society to have all individuals who can survive in any environment. Ethnic studies encourage active and productive individuals who support society with available resources, raw materials, energy, and, agriculture. Ethnic studies are a discipline that focuses on communication skills, creativity, imaginative thinking, good writing, and well-informed global citizens. Introducing kid’s to voluntary activities enable them to have experience in social movements as well as achieving community plans. Ethnicity is an attitude developed that should be natured to promote unity, equality, peace, and cooperation. It is taking mutual responsibility to support less advantaged individuals.

Ethnicity studies are a model of community, promoted through mobilizing members of society to develop and facilitate the growth of entire community (James, et al., 2014). It is a collaborative partnership among individuals with higher potential such as kids, teenagers, and youths. It involves influence performed by a group with an intention of giving back to the community. It can involve charity work, voluntary services provision, giving a hand to other people, and performing public work. Motives of the mobilized group are to leave the environment in better or improved condition than before. Kids should be guided on how to take part in providing service projects and opportunities. Engaging kids in voluntary activities shall equip kids with responsibility, engage their compassion and talents and provide kids with a chance to created influence in the life of others. Skills gained with voluntary activities provide kids with potentials to serve in local and global environments. Ethnicity eliminates oppression, racism, colonialism, slavery, genocide, and class divisions (Monisha, 2013).

The main aim of kids voluntary services and opportunities is to enable them to discover their potential to influenced changes in the community. Family members (father, mother, and elder siblings) should take part in community activities to make kids learn that they can influence a positive difference in lives of other people (Christine, 2015). Successful voluntary services make kids feel that they are being appreciated, inspired, and recognized. Through working as a family in voluntary services helps kids to develop empathy, strengthen unity, promote ethnic interactions, and encourage sharing with less fortunate. Showing kids voluntary services and opportunities are good creates the overall mind of working valuing perfect results and outcomes. It gives kids high effective human character in jobs, and in their careers.

Service Projects and Opportunities for Kids

Kids should be involved in donating clothes and house goods. They should collect all unused clothes from wardrobes including those clothes that have become small. Clothes that are in good conditions and are not used should be used as a donation to other kids. House items such as excess bathing soaps, tissue papers, a pair of shoes and other personal effects that can be shared should be donated out of good will (Karen, 2016).

Other activities include collection and provision excess food materials. Children should be given time and be motivated to share nonperishable food. Food that exists in the form of grains, seeds, and other perishable resistance foods should be collected and stored for use by other children. If possible children should be involved in the construction of food storage locations. Permanent food storage reservoir that should be used for keeping food materials should be established to allow kids practice sharing of food through saving excess food.

Kids should be directed to children home institutions where other kids live. Kids should always be encouraged to share their leisure time with other kids that reside in children homes. They should be allowed to play together, sing, and enjoy reading. Exploitation activities such as drawing, designing, and practicing artwork should be encouraged. Kids should be encouraged to share and donate their playing toys, fan tools and other equipment such as artificially made dolls (Don, 2012). During such events artwork such as stitching, modeling, and making patterns should be encouraged to help children share their creative ideas to appreciate one another.

Holiday moments should be well spent by, guiding kids to utilize their holiday for more advanced growth, development, and the gaining of new experiences. Kids should be involved in charity walks that promote them develop a heart for working together to support needy. Kids should take part in projects launched by Red Cross organizations, facilities involving dynamic participation in social kids clubs and other functions. Activities such as birthday parties should take place involve invitation of needy families (Molly, 2014). Parents should encourage their kids to celebrate their birthdays at children with less fortunate children. During birthday parties kids should be encouraged to give and share gifts with other poor kids. They should be asked to donate and share with them as well.

Kids should be encouraged to form groups that can be involved in challenges and contests. They should get involved in the training of skills, such as a computer, writing skills, communicating skills, and boosting personal talents. Speech and Pronunciation games should be introduced in various groups to help kids develop effective communication skills and become excellent English language speakers. Group based challenges should incorporate games, and sports (Allyson, et al., 2014). All fields of co-curriculum activities among kids should be developed from a young age. Coaches, team leaders as well as various shining stars in different positions can easily be identified. Meeting new groups of kids with well-developed activities can encourage kids to have better and improved social activities and promote unity within the community.

Kids should be involved in environmental awareness activities. Kids should be involved in community projects such as collection of cabbages, cleaning towns, and clearing bushes. Children should have a day for planting trees to facilitate maintenance of the environment. Through environmental projects children are capable of interacting and sharing ideas that can responsibly keep providing better places to stay in future life. They should formulate environmental clubs that should always focus on maintaining good environmental standards within society (Becky, 2013).

Kids should be encouraged to grow extra fruits and vegetables that should be used as donations and charity activities in social areas such as hospitality centers for young children (Laura, 2013). Food banks and food storage centers should be equipped with all kinds of food materials to ensure that nursing homes, children homes and places where other kids are given hospitality have enough food and for their consumption. Kids should develop community gardens s to help in glowing food that can be shared with other people and that can go in public stores.

Kids should offer voluntary services to senior citizens by assisting them in doing house chores. Kids should participate in washing their utensils, making their hair, painting their nails as well as performing general cleaning on behalf of senior citizens. Kids should visit senior citizens constantly to keep them lively and keep their company. They should take over responsibilities such as washing their clothes, nursing and dressing them when in need. They should gather or donate food for aged people through charity walks as well as grow home vegetables for use by aged (Lesli, 2014).Kids should assist old people in reading, differentiating currencies, and doing simple calculations. They should share much time with old people in cold seasons like winter.
